Request for the District Council Geographical Constituency Boundaries
I refer to your email of 13 October 2023 to the Registration and Electoral
Office (“REO”) requesting (i) the shapefile of the constituency boundaries of the 1982
District Board Election and (ii) the voter turnout data from 1999 to 2019. The REO has
referred your request (i) to the Electoral Affairs Commission for follow-up and our reply is
set out below.
As the digitalisation of electoral boundary maps for District Council Ordinary
Election (“DCOE”) commenced in 1999, we regret that we could only provide the relevant
digital data since 1999 DCOE. The shapefile of the boundaries maps of different elections
can be downloaded from the Common Spatial Data Infrastructure Portal (“Portal”)
(https://portal.csdi.gov.hk/csdi-webpage/). Please note the Dataset Remarks in the Portal
and comply with the terms and conditions at the
Annex upon use of the shapefile.
You may wish to note that the shapefile only shows the boundaries but not other
digital data such as the topographic map database and digital land boundary database. If
you need such information, please contact the Land Information Centre of Lands Department
with details as follows:
