Death Cases with Vaccination Record
Dear Hospital Authority,
I am inquiring about the information supplied to the HKSAR Government for use in the press releases 'update on monitoring Covid-19 vaccination' which are given regularly on it's website, please see below:

Specifically, I wish to know what data is being used for death cases with and without vaccination records, ie, from your latest data:
'According to information from the HA, during the period from November 1 to November 28, the ratio of death cases out of those without a vaccination record was 124.7 cases for every 100 000 people, whereas the ratio of death cases for those with a vaccination record was 6.6 cases for every 100 000 people'.
The above data comparing deaths of vaccinated as 124.7 and deaths of unvaccinated as 6.6 per 100K people is statistically impossible. Especially as the HKSAR Government state that over 70% of the local population (over 12 years of age) has been vaccinated. Hence can you urgently give me the data you are using to produce this data, as according to this a huge number of people are dying in Hong Kong that are unvaccinated (124.7 per 100K) compared to those that are vaccinated (6.6 per 100K) as if this is the case with 70% of the population with at least 1 dose of vaccine, it shows the vaccine is giving life extending properties unheard of in science! I wish to highlight this as the vaccine seems to not only protect against the Covid-19 but extend life by approximately 19X!!! This is so extreme that this needs to be investigated as these life extending properties should immediately by covered by the media wordwide and shared to us to find out why this vaccine is producing these effects.

Further to my reply dated 16 December 2021, please find below the Hospital
Authority Head Office’s response to the item you requested:
The number of death cases per 100,000 population with and without a
vaccination record is compiled using data from inpatients and at Accident
and Emergency Department in public hospitals. On the other hand, the
inoculation data is sourced from the Department of Health vaccination
database during patient encounters at public hospitals. Inoculation
population refers to the population with 1st dose of the COVID-19 vaccine
administrated since the start of the Government’s COVID-19 Vaccination
Programme up to the reporting period. Non-inoculated population refers to
"Hong Kong Resident Population as at mid-2021 disseminated by the Census
and Statistics Department" minus "inoculated population". Please note that
the mentioned statistics are for reference only. You can find the relevant
definitions and statistics on the thematic website for the COVID-19
Vaccination Programme

Besides, the inoculated and non-inoculated populations are of different
age profiles. We cannot compare the number of death cases per 100,000
population for the inoculated and non-inoculated groups for directly
investigating the “life-extending” properties of the vaccine. You may wish
to find the age profile of the inoculated group on the COVID-19
Vaccination Programme’s website
