Torture Claims Appeal Board decision statistics

Scott Edmunds made this Freedom of Information request to Immigration Department

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Immigration Department should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Immigration Department,

I recently made an access to information request to the Security Bureau on the appeals to the Torture Claims Appeal Board (Non-refoulement Claims Petition Office). See:

https://accessinfo.hk/en/request/clarifi...

They had some, but not all of this information, so I was wondering if you had the remainder. Specifically I would like to know:

1. 1. The number of decisions of the TCAB challenged via Judicial Review applications lodged in the High Court. The Security Bureau say they are not privy to the process, but someone else in government must be, so I'm hoping you have this data or can put me in touch with the department that does.

2. For each listed member of the TCAB (i.e. By name from this list http://www.sb.gov.hk/eng/links/tcab/) I've wanted breakdowns on the number of appeals they have each been handling. The Security Bureau say they don't have this, but as the board are operating under the immigration ordinance I'm hoping you have this information. I appreciate it may take some time to gather so I'm happy to wait for this.

Yours faithfully,

Scott Edmunds
