Dear Ms Annie QIU

Thank you for your enquiry of 1.10.2017 addressed to Food and Health
Bureau which has been referred to the Centre for Food Safety (CFS) for
further action (copy enclosed).

Kindly note that the CFS has not conducted the studies mentioned in your
email ourselves. In considering carcinogenicity of substances (including
possibility of causing cancer and the type of cancer), CFS normally makes
reference to evaluation conducted by the International Agency for Research
on Cancer (IARC) of the World Health Organization. You may wish to refer
to IARC's website ([1]https://www.iarc.fr/) for further information.

Regards,
Eric CHEUNG
for Controller, Centre for Food Safety
Food and Environmental Hygiene Department
