Dear Alexis,

Regarding your request for population aged 15 and over by educational
attainment (highest level attended), median monthly domestic household
income and median monthly domestic household rent relevant to Large Street
Block Group (LSBG) for the years of 2001 and 2006, the following 2
statistical tables compiled from the results of the 2001 Population Census
(01C) and 2006 Population By-census (06BC) are attached (File: "Table 1 &
2.xlsx") for your reference.  On the other hand, in order to safeguard the
confidentiality of data relating to individual persons and households and
for data precision concerns, the required statistics are not available at
Small Street Block Group (SSBG) level.

Table 1: Population aged 15 and over by educational attainment (highest
level attended), median monthly domestic household income and median
monthly domestic household rent by Large Street Block Group, 2001
Table 2: Population aged 15 and over by educational attainment (highest
level attended), median monthly domestic household income and median
monthly domestic household rent by Large Street Block Group, 2006

Please note that the statistics provided in Table 1 and 2 are confined to
your internal use and must not be used for re-dissemination to any person,
company and organisation.  However, you may include the statistics that
you have obtained from the Census and Statistics Department (with the
source properly acknowledged) in publication, paper or any other materials
which you prepare for academic and educational purposes.  In case the
statistics are used for commercial purposes, the statistics quoted should
only constitute an insignificant portion of your piece of work and have no
direct influence on any profit and income arising therefrom; if otherwise,
please further consult us.

In order to safeguard the confidentiality of data relating to individual
persons and households and for statistical precision reason, adjacent
Street Blocks (SBs) are grouped as SSBGs and LSBGs for data dissemination.
The minimum population in each LSBG is 1 000.  The minimum population in
each SSBG is 100 for 01C and 400 for 06BC.  The boundaries of individual
SBs, SSBGs and LSBGs may vary across the years (even having the same
name/number in different years).

As you may also be interested in obtaining the same set of statistics at
DCCA level, the following 01C and 06BC reports are provided for your
reference as well.

It is an established practice since 1961 for Hong Kong to conduct a
population census once every 10 years, and a by-census in the middle of
the intercensal period.  The latest round is the 2021 Population Census.
No separate information are available for the years without conducting a
population census/by-census.

Should you have any questions about population censuses/by-censuses,
please feel free to contact Demographic Statistics Section (2) of this
department (Tel: (852) 3903 6944; Facsimile: (852) 2716 0231; E-mail:
