Discrimination

David Moore made this Freedom of Information request to Department of Health

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was successful.

Dear Department of Health,

With it now an established fact that the Covid vaccine does nothing in regard to infection and transmission, it only serves to reduce the severity of symptoms in said individual, why is the vaccine pass still in effect? It offers zero protection to the community, it only serves to discriminate those who choose to look after their own health.

Yours faithfully,

David Moore

Enquiry FHB/FHB,

Dear Mr MOORE,

Thank you for your access to information request dated 12 April.

2.     The Sinovac and Comirnaty vaccines currently available in Hong Kong
are safe and highly effective in protecting against severe disease and
death from COVID-19 infection.  Vaccination can drastically lower the
severity of illness in case of COVID-19 infection.

3.     The implementation of the Vaccine Pass arrangement aims to raise
the vaccination rate, strengthen the immune barrier against the epidemic
and allow citizens to continue to resume their normal lives in an orderly
manner.  We strongly appeal to members of the public who have not been
vaccinated, especially senior citizens, chronic patients and other
immunocompromised persons who face a much higher fatality risk after
COVID-19 infection, to get vaccinated with no delay for the sake of their
health.  Members of the public who are currently eligible for a third or
fourth dose should also get the dose as soon as possible.

4.     Thank you again for your attention on vaccination matters.
