Enquiry regarding lot GLA-HK 101 on Victoria Peak

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was partially successful.

Dear Hong Kong Police Force Planning & Development Branch,

I am writing to enquire about certain land within Victoria Peak Gardens. The land in question is a small hilltop directly above/behind the former C&W staff quarters at No. 40 Mount Austin Road, and is currently occupied by an abandoned radio transmission tower along with a disused transmitter building. As of 2011, according to page 5 of the study report titled "Interpretation Study on the Site of Former Mountain Lodge and its Surrounding Areas" published by the Antiquities and Monuments Office, this land is lot number GLA-HK 101 and is allocated to HK Police. The boundaries of this particular lot, as provided by the Government's GeoInfo online map, are shown on the map at this link:

http://www.map.gov.hk/gih3/view/mapshare...

Regarding this lot, I have the following questions:

(1) When was this land first allocated to HK Police, and for what purpose was this land allocated?
(2) On which date did HK Police cease to use this land for the original purpose for which it was allocated?
(3) What is the current use of this land by HK Police?
(4) Does HK Police intend to make use of this land in the future? If so, what is the intended future use?
(5) If not, does HK Police plan to return this land to the Government for re-allocation?

I appreciate your assistance with this matter.

Yours faithfully,
Andrew Tipton
