We request the following statistical information for 2022 broken down by each data point:

1) The number of newly reported child sexual abuse (“CSA”) cases
2) The sex and age of the victim
3) The sex and age of the perpetrator

Thanks very much for your quick and very helpful reply. I have a couple of followup questions I hope you can answer:

1) Am I correct that your dept. doesn't record the gender of the victim or the age / gender of the perpetrator?

2) Where do cases related to Child Sexual Abuse Materials (CSAM) or CSEC (AKA pornography, prostitution etc.) fall in your breakdown?

3) Last year your dept classified a type of relation as "Lover" even as related to children. This year you provided the category of "Ex-spouse / Boy-friend / Girl-friend". Is this the same as the previous "Lover" category so that we can make a YOY comparison? Did any of these cases involved children actually include "ex-spouses"?

4) Am I correct that your dept recorded no cases of the new image based offences (Section 159xxx etc)?

Cases related to child sexual abuse materials are either categorized under
“child pornography” or other relevant offences under Crimes Ordinance,
Cap. 200, depending on the circumstances of individual cases.

3) Last year your dept classified a type of relation as "Lover" even as
related to children. This year you provided the category of "Ex-spouse /
Boy-friend / Girl-friend". Is this the same as the previous "Lover"
category so that we can make a YOY comparison? Did any of these cases
involved children actually include "ex-spouses"?

Concerning the child sexual abuse figures in 2022, the victim and
perpetrator for 156 cases were in a love relationship, i.e. boyfriend or
girlfriend. This category is referred as ‘lovers’ in the release of the
previous year.

4) Am I correct that your dept recorded no cases of the new image based
offences (Section 159xxx etc)?

The police maintains figures of voyeurism-related offences under Section
159 AAB-AAE, Cap 200 since the enactment of the legislation in 2021.

~~~ For exmaple Sect 138A? Please provide the statistics for any charges related to CSAM / CSEC in 2022. If there were none, please list them as "0" as you did for Incest.
