I refer to your email of 25 November 2022.

Under the Land Registration Ordinance (Cap. 128), the Land Registry is a
public office responsible for registration of instruments affecting land
and provision of land records for public search upon payment of the
prescribed fees.

As regards your request for the information relating to Land Sale No.
2230, New Grant No. 2672, D. D. No. Tung Chung Hang, Lot No. 1, Deed
Register Vol. No. 244, Fol. No. 168, please see the following:

Land Sale No. 2230 is not kept by the Land Registry and therefore we are
not able to provide such information.

Re. New Grant No. 2672
New Grant No. 2672 was lost during the Japanese Occupation and is thus not
available for public search.  You may consider obtaining a copy of the
relevant New Grant Register which contains some particulars of New Grant
No. 2672 such as locality, premium paid and annual rent etc. at our

The book form registers have become obsolete and are no longer available
for public search after computerisation.  You may consider obtaining a
computerised land register of the relevant lot via our IRIS Online
Services ([2]www.iris.gov.hk) or at our service counters.

If you encounter any problems when conducting the land search via our IRIS
Online Services, please contact our Customer Service Hotline at 3105 0000
(press “3” and “4” after selecting the language).

You may wish to note that, according to paragraph 1.25 of the Code, any
person who believes that a department has failed to comply with any
provision of the Code may ask the department to review the situation.
According to the paragraph 1.26 of the Code, any person who believes that
a department has failed to properly apply any provision of the Code may
also complain to the Ombudsman.  The relevant paragraphs are provided at
the attached Annex for reference.
