Dear Social Welfare Department,

I am writing to make a data access request about the number of persons held at Tuen Mun Children and Juvenile Home.

May I know, in each of the years between 2010-20:

a) the population on 31 December of each year, and of those how many were non-Hong Kong residents

b) yearly admittances of juveniles in each year (2010-2020), and of those how many were non-Hong Kong residents

If a CSV or Excel format is possible, I would greatly appreciate it.

information about Tuen Mun Children and Juvenile Home.  Your application
which our department first received on 13 September 2021 is now under

As for (a) we can only retrieve data from June 2015 onward and please
reply if it is agreeable with you.

                 I refer to your email dated 13 September 2021, seeking
access to the following information regarding the number of persons held
at Tuen Mun Children and Juvenile Home in each of the years between 2010
and 2020 -

 

(a)           The population on 31 December of each year, and of those how
many were non-Hong Kong residents; and

 

(b)          The yearly admittances of juveniles, and of those how many
were non-Hong Kong residents.

 

Subsequent to our interim reply to you on 14 September 2021, please find
the requested figures from 2011 to 2020 in the attached file.  The
Department is not in possession of the relevant statistics before 2011.

Thank you for your email of 27 September 2021.  The Social Welfare
Department is the only government department that collects and maintains
the statistics of Tuen Mun Children and Juvenile Home. The statistical
records prior to 2011 have already been disposed and are no longer
available.
