The request was successful.

Dear Immigration Department,

I am writing to make an information request regarding the “ “Information Leaflet for Detainee” [that] is issued to every detainee upon admission informing them of their rights, including their legal right, welfare, treatments and channels of complaints during their detention” as quoted from page 33 of the Justices of the Peace 2020 Annual Report: https://www.info.gov.hk/jp/files/anrepor...

I would like to ask whether a copy or this leaflet could be provided, or whether you could direct me to where I may access it.

Thank you for your help.

Yours faithfully,

Gigi Lo

Dear Immigration Department,

Thank you very much for your reply and the document provided. May I know,

1) Is this document provided to detainees in other languages (ie. if they do not read English), and if so, what languages are available?
2) I note that there is a signature section on the bottom of the document. Are detainees given this document, asked to sign, and return the document? Or instead do they sign and keep the document? I would greatly appreciate if you could elaborate further on the procedure involving this document upon admission into the detention facility.

Thanks again for your help with this query.

Yours faithfully,

Gigi Lo
