Dear Social Welfare Department,
I am writing to make a data access request regarding the Criminal and Law Enforcement Injuries Compensation Scheme. May I know, in each of the years between 2010 – 2021,
A) The total number of applications received
B) The total number of applications received in relation to Immigration Department officials
C) The total number of applications approved
D) The total number of applications approved in relation to Immigration Department officials
E) The total amount of financial settlement granted
F) The total amount of financial settlement granted in relation to complaints regarding Immigration Department officials
I) Of which, the number of non-residents
G) The total amount of financial settlement granted to non-residents
If a CSV or Excel format is possible, I would greatly appreciate it.

I refer to your email dated 20 October 2021, seeking access to the
following information regarding the Criminal and Law Enforcement Injuries
Compensation Scheme in each of the years between 2010 and 2021 –
a) The total number of applications received;
b) The total number of applications received in relation to
Immigration Department officials;
c) The total number of applications approved;
d) The total number of applications approved in relation to
Immigration Department officials;
e) The total amount of financial settlement granted;
f) The total amount of financial settlement granted in relation to
complaints regarding Immigration Department officials;
g) Of the applicants in (a) to (d) above, the number of non-residents;
and
h) The total amount of financial settlement granted to non-residents.
2. Subsequent to our interim reply to you on 21 October 2021,
please find our reply below.
Item (a), (c) and (e) above
3. The total number of the applications received, total number
of new and review cases approved and the total amount of compensation
awarded from 2010 to 2021 are provided as Excel format which is enclosed
in the Annex.
Item (b), (d), (f), (g) and (h) above
4. The department does not possess the statistic of applications
received/ cases approved/ compensation awarded in relation to Immigration
Department officials and non-residents. Therefore, no figures of item
(b), (d), (f), (g) and (h) above can be provided.
