The request was successful.

Dear Planning Department,

I am a research assistant in the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and I am working on a project on land use in the past 20 years. Referring to another request on similar data, https://accessinfo.hk/en/request/request... , I would like to request for the scanned Land Utilization from 2001-2017, in GeoTiff format.

In addition, I would like to make another request on the Boundaries of Tertiary Planning Units & Street Blocks / Village Clusters, used in the Population Census in 2001 and 2006. The format of that should be the same as the boundary used in 2016, publicly available at https://data.gov.hk/en-data/dataset/hk-p... .

Yours faithfully,
Sha Yu Hin

Dear Sha Yu Hin,

I refer to your request dated 16.9.2021 regarding to the subject matter.

2.        Planning Department (PlanD) only has print files of historical
Land Utilization Hong Kong (LUHK) paper plans of 2001, 2004 - 2007 and
2009 - 2016.   We can convert these print files to GeoTiff format (with
Land Use Look Up Table) for viewing and other purposes on any GIS
software.  The print files were at the time for the production of for-sale
paper plans at scale of 1:75000 for visualization purpose only.  We do not
recommend to use the converted geo-referenced datasets for any calculation
or analysis purposes.

3.        According to the record, we did not prepare LUHK paper plans of
2002, 2003, 2008 and 2017 for sale and thus we do not have their print
files.

4.        Considering that the size of the requested datasets would be
quite large, we usually would arrange to zip the datasets in a DVD for the
enquirer to collect personally at the Public Enquiry Counter on 17/F,
North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, Quarry Bay.   Please
confirm with me by email whether the aforementioned arrangement suits your
purpose and would be acceptable to you with regard to the first request on
your email.

5.     The 2001 and 2006 Tertiary Planning Unit and Street Block/Village
Cluster (TPU&SB/VC) Boundaries for the Hong Kong Special Administrative
Region are now available for order.  Please read the guideline and licence
agreement in our web site
([1]https://www.pland.gov.hk/pland_en/forms/...) for details of
making an order.  Please complete the order form and you could send to us
by email ([email address]) or Fax (Fax no. 2522 7243) or by mail to
Town Planner/Land Supply 2, Information Systems and Land Supply Section,
Planning Department, 16/F North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road,
North Point, Hong Kong.  We will proceed your request as appropriate.

For any enquiry, please contact the undersigned at 2231 4761.
