Dear Mr Tong,

Thank you for your Application for Access to Information dated 20 January
2024.

Please find below the HA Head Office’s response to the items you
requested:

Hong Kong Cancer Registry (HKCaR) is a population-based cancer registry
responsible for collecting the basic demographic data, information of the
cancer site, and tumour histology of patients diagnosed with cancer in
public and private medical institutions in Hong Kong. The HKCaR provides
cancer incidence and mortality data in the Territory.

The Overview of Hong Kong Cancer Statistics of 2021, which is the latest
cancer statistics report published by the HKCaR, is attached for your
reference. Statistics about the most common cancers and major causes of
cancer deaths in 2021 with breakdown by gender and age group in 2021 can
be found in Appendix I and Appendix II of the attached statistics report.
The statistics of 2022 and 2023 are currently not yet available.

Summary of cancer statistics in PDF format since 2009 are available for
download at [1]Summary Reports of the HKCaR website. Earlier data since
1983 can be accessed through the [2]Cancer Statistics Query Systems. For
more details, please visit the [3]HKCaR website.

If you have any questions about this reply, please do not hesitate to
contact me via email ([4][email address]).  Thank you.
