Dear Immigration Department,
Thanks for replying monthly aggregated stats for previous request. For my study requirement (in/out traffic within a day; say find out the best time to pass a certain control point), I need breakdown records. Anonymised raw data is most useful. If it is not available, aggregation at minute level (or at most hour level), could still give some information.
Thanks!
Yours faithfully,
Pili Hu

To start with, the IMMD is clearly capable of producing daily aggregate data for arrivals and departures classified by "HK Residents", "Mainland Vistors" and "Other Visitors". We know this because, when it suits them, figures are posted on their web site (and then taken down) for various seasonal dates. The latest one is here:
http://www.immd.gov.hk/eng/stat_20150502...
So please ask IMMD to release a machine-readable dataset of daily data for as far back as it is available and keep it updated daily.
