Academic Access to the Travel Characteristics Survey 2022 Database
Dear Transport Department,
I would like to apply for academic access to the Travel Characteristics Survey 2022 (TCS 2022) database.
In the Department's response to Access to Information Request No. 177/25 dated 23 June 2025, it was stated that academic researchers could arrange access to the database after publication of the TCS 2022 Final Report, subject to a signed form of undertaking.
As the Final Report has now been published, could you please forward this request to the responsible Engineer and provide the form of undertaking and instructions for proceeding with the application?
If personal or institutional information is required, please provide an official non-public contact channel through which it can be submitted securely.

We refer to your application dated 24 July 2026 requesting the Travel Characteristics Survey 2022 (TCS 2022) database for your academic research. Please note that TCS 2022 database could be released to you on condition that it is used for the sole purpose of carrying out your academic research.
To this end, we enclose for your completion and signing a form of undertaking in respect of the TCS 2022 database ("the materials"). We also attach for your attention a file containing the terms and conditions for using the materials. We should be grateful if you could e-mail us scanned PDF file of your duly completed and signed form of undertaking to the email address of [email address] for our early action, and send your original signed copy to our office at the following address afterwards.
