Dear Department of Health,

According to your website, the Port Health Division is responsible for implementing port health measures and quarantine clearance at boundary control points of the territory, examples being temperature screening (thermal imaging machinery), health posts for medical assessment, etc.

Regarding these specific responsibilities, I would like to know the following:

1. The breakdown of financial expenditures allocated specifically to boundary temperature screening operations across all control points (including expenditures for outsourced screening personnel or contractors);
2. The annual procurement, maintenance, and operational costs associated with the thermal imaging systems and related hardware or machinery utilised by the said division;
3. The budget allocation and staffing costs assigned specifically to health quarantine clearance responsibilities and enforcement at ports of entry under Programme (1): Statutory Functions;
4. The total number or estimated number of inbound travelers who underwent temperature screening upon arrival, if available;
5. The total number of travellers flagged or identified with an elevated body temperature or fever at the initial screening stage;
6. The total number of travelers who underwent a secondary health assessment conducted by Port Health Division staff due to displaying infectious disease symptoms;
7. The total number of travelers subsequently referred to public hospitals or external medical facilities for further medical management following their health assessment; and
8. The total number of travelers placed under mandatory quarantine orders or formal isolation directly arriving through these boundary control points.

I am happy to take numbers for each fiscal or calendar year dating as far back as such records have been made. If you could please provide this data in electronic format (e.g. Excel or PDF form) rather than tabular it would be greatly appreciated.

Yours faithfully,

James A. Wilson
