Dear Mr. HUI,

                Thank you for your application dated 2 May 2023 seeking
access to information relating to population of Hong Kong Identity Card
(“HKIC”) holder by HKIC prefix.

                Please be informed that the total number of HKIC in
circulation as at 30 April 2023 was 10,146,651.  However, the figure
breakdown by HKIC prefix is not readily available.

                If we can be of any assistance in the provision of other
information in the future, please do not hesitate to contact us again.
