Dear Census and Statistics Department,

Thanks for the reply, as you mentioned the Rating & Valuation Department (RVD)'s publication of the latest "Names of Buildings" (in two volumes) which presents the names, addresses and years of completion of buildings in Hong Kong. The department claimed in response to my inquiry the above-mentioned publication contains only buildings that have names. Buildings do not have names (e.g. ) are excluded from the list, in other words it is not a "full list" for the permanent buildings in Hong Kong.

I noticed Census and Statistics Department possess a lot of statistics and data regarding housing and property aspect, does Census and Statistics Department possess "The full name list for the permanent buildings in Hong Kong" or other relevant data/ information?

Thanks

Yours faithfully,

Dear Kusy,

I refer to your clarification on the requirements for the full list of the
name, address and year of completion of all permanent buildings in Hong
Kong on 29 September 2017 and our interim reply on 3 October 2017.

The Census and Statistics Department (C&SD) does not possess the required
information.  In the course of our work, we utilise information provided
by various government departments to maintain a sampling frame for
conducting household surveys in order to compile statistics on the
socio-economic characteristics of the Hong Kong population.  The requested
information is not under C&SD’s purview.
