I refer to your email below requesting for statistics of refugee crime at
the Airport District.

Your request has been directed to the relevant section.  The relevant
authorities have endeavored to gather / assemble the data required from
different sources. However, I am sorry to inform you that only figure for
2016 is readily available.   To facilitate your understanding of the
concerned cases reported in 2016, the details of cases (including the
nationality of the arrested person, the nature of case and the
progress/result) are appended below for your information.

Dear Kathy,

Currently only the crime statistics of 2016 could be found at present

1) APTRN 16007224 Shoptheft: Indonesian Male, aged 33 with Form 8 arrested
and charged.  Fined $400-HKD.
2) APTRN 16010410 Shoptheft: Indonesian Male, aged 33 with Form 8 arrested
and charged.  4 weeks imprisonment
3) APTRN 16015154 Uttering Forged ID: Indian Male, aged 28 with Form 8
arrested and laid hold charged.  Case adjourned pending further
investigation
4) APTRN 16015154 Uttering Forged ID: Indian Male, aged 33 with Form 8
arrested and laid hold charged.  Case adjourned pending further
investigation
5) APTRN 16015218 Using Identity Card Belonging To Another Person:
Pakistani Male, aged 32 with Form 8 arrested and laid hold charged.  Case
adjourned pending further investigation

Dear Hong Kong Police Force Airport District,

Can you please provide data on arrest statistics of refugees
(non-refoulement claimants). Specifically I would like the most complete
yearly statistics of refugee arrests from the airport district for every
full year you have data going back to 2005, plus total arrest statistics
from your district to put this information into context. If you have a
breakdown of prosecution and conviction rates that would be useful too.,
and information on what proportion of the arrests are from immigration
offences.

On top of total numbers, if you have the nationalities of the refugees
arrested that information would be useful as well. I’m happy to take
digital files if that’s easier, but please don’t send this information in
tabular form in the email as I can’t view it. Attaching a PDF, or emailing
other files to me (I can provide an email) would work best.
