Waiting for an internal review by Water Supplies Department of their handling of this request.

Dear Water Supplies Department,

I would like to request the information about the test results of drinking water samples from all public facilities (including public housing) in Hong Kong.

1. How many tests of drinking water samples has the Department conducted over the past 5 years?

2. Among all these tests, how many water samples fail to meet the World Health Organisation (WHO) standard?

3. For each water sample which fails to meet the WHO standard, which housing estate is involved? What is/are the safety concern(s)?

Yours faithfully,

Dear Water Supplies Department,

Please respond to my Request for Access to Information ASAP.

Yours faithfully,

Water Supplies Department

Dear Stranbusel,

I refer to your application for information under the "Code on Access to
Information" made on 12 July 2015 for the provision of water quality
monitoring results of drinking water. The information required is provided
below for your reference:
1.        Under the routine water quality monitoring programme of the
Water Supplies Department (WSD), over 15,000 treated water samples from
consumers’ taps including public facilities are taken and tested each year
in the past 5 years (4/2010 – 3/2015).

2.        During the above period (4/2010 – 3/2015), all routine
monitoring results including consumers’ taps results complied fully with
the World Health Organization’s “Guidelines for Drinking-water Quality”.
Detailed information on the monitoring results of drinking water supply in
Hong Kong for the period of April 2014 to March 2015 is available in the
following website of the WSD:

Dear Water Supplies Department,

I am writing to request for more information regarding my Access to Information (ATI) request 'Test Results of Drinking Water Samples 食水化驗結果'.

Your response dated 22 July 2015 has been received on 25 July 2015. The website moderator probably has screened the incoming messages and caused the delay.

The webpage you provided in the response contains the information about the drinking water quality monitoring data for the period of April 2014 – March 2015. May I request the Department to provide, or to upload to that webpage, the full historical records of drinking water quality monitoring data?

Furthermore, the Department has mentioned on its webpage that more than 100 000 water samples are taken and tested each year, while only about 15 000 water samples come from consumers' taps (including public facilities). May I ask the Department if more water samples from consumer's taps will be taken and tested in the future?

As my ATI request has been made in both Chinese and English, please also respond in both languages.

Thank you very much.

A full history of my ATI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: http://accessinfo.hk/en/request/test_res...

Yours faithfully,
