Dear Sir/Madam,
I refer to your email dated 11 October 2026 to the Digital Policy Office, requesting information on 1823 under The Code on Access to Information. Our response is as follows:
The current 1823 complaint escalation mechanism took effect on 23 October 2024. Since the mechanism was introduced, two cases were referred to the relevant District Officer (DO) of the Home Affairs Department for a decision, one in 2025 and the other in 2026. No cases were referred to the Chairman of Task Force on District Governance for a ruling.
Both cases referred to DO were resolved. The outcome of the case in 2026 was delivered to the complainant; whereas the outcome for the case in 2025 could not be conveyed to the complainant as the complainant did not provide his/her contact information to 1823.
Best regards,
