Yearly breakdown of non-refoulement claimants by gender and age
Dear Immigration Department,
I wish to make a data access request regarding the number of non-refoulement claimants in terms of gender, age and nationality. May I know for each specific year from 2010 to 2023:
1) the number of non-refoulement claims made each year broken down according to gender
2) the number of non-refoulement claims made each year broken down according to whether they are an adult (18 years old and above) or child (below 18 years old)
2) the number of non-refoulement claims made each year broken down according to their countries

The Government implemented the Unified Screening Mechanism (USM) in March
2014 to screen non-refoulement claims on all applicable grounds in one
go. Since the implementation of USM till 30 September 2023, the number of
non-refoulement claims made with the requested breakdown is as follows:
