Data on lengths of stay at TMCJH
Dear Immigration Department,
I am writing to make an information request regarding lengths / durations of stay at Tuen Mun Children and Juvenile Home (“TMCJH”). May I know,
1) Is data related to the length of stay of migrant (ie. non-local) children at TMCJH maintained? (For example: Average length / duration of stay, number of admittances broken down by periods of time, etc)
2) If so, would you be able to provide these statistics?
In previous correspondence, the Social Welfare Department has stated that they do not maintain this data (see: https://accessinfo.hk/en/request/data_on...). As such, any relevant information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for your help.
Yours faithfully,
H. Y. Fung
Dear H. Y. Fung,
I refer to your email of 10 June 2022.
In order to enable us to proceed further with your request, please clarify
on or before 20 June 2022 whether the migrant (ie. non-local) children at
TMCJH mentioned in your email refer to the migrant (ie. non-local)
children under immigration detention.
Regards

Dear Immigration Department,
Thanks very much for your response.
I would like to clarify- might there be length of stay / detention data maintained as snapshot dates for TMCJH? For example, end of month population snapshot dates with length of stay / detention data, such as the type of data maintained for CIC (example here: https://accessinfo.hk/en/request/lengths...).
Thanks again for your help, and I look forward to your response.
Yours sincerely,
H. Y. Fung
