The request was partially successful.

Dear hospital authority
This is a student study group from Baptist University taking a General Education course for undergraduates in which students investigate various government policies and projects. Our team is doing the project related to the health management function in e-Health application.
For the function, health management, in e-Health, it can only monitor users’ blood pressure and blood glucose by manual input data. If e-Health can own more data, input blood pressure/glucose automatically may be available.
1.How do the public hospital and clinics keep the patients’ blood pressure and glucose records?
2.Are these records saved in a computer system?
3.Have these records been shared in e-Health?

Thanks in advance for your assistance
Your sincerely
undergraduate student

Enquiry (Hospital Authority), Hospital Authority

Dear Miss Liang,

Thank you for your Application for Access to Information dated 3 October
2021. Please find below the information you requested:

Traditionally, patients’ medical records are kept in paper format. The
Hospital Authority (HA) started to introduce the Clinical Management
System in 1995 and more and more patients’ medical records have been kept
electronically.

With the commencement of the Smart Hospital Programme in recent years,
some of the HA pilot hospitals have implemented a new system module which
captures the patients’ vital signs, e.g. blood pressure.

The Electronic Health Record Sharing System ([1]eHealth) is developed by
the Hong Kong Government. The HA will also share some of the essential
clinical data to eHealth in accordance with the sharable data scope as
defined and reviewed by the Electronic Health Record Office of the
Government.

If you have any questions about this reply, please do not hesitate to
contact me.

Yours sincerely,

Sandy Chu(Miss)
