1 Attachment

Dear Shuting,

I refer to your application made under the Code on Access to Information
sent to Labour Department on 12.4.2021 and subsequently transferred to our
department for follow-up.  We now provide the answers below for your
reference.
The General Household Survey (GHS) is a continuous sample survey to
collect information on the labour force, employment, unemployment and
underemployment, as well as the demographic and socio-economic
characteristics of the population.  The technical details of the survey
could be found in the survey report "Quarterly Report on General Household
Survey"
([1]https://www.censtatd.gov.hk/en/EIndexbyS...).

Per your request, the following statistics compiled from the results of
the GHS can be provided for your reference [File : Number of employed
parents with own children.xlsx].
        Number of employed parents living with own child(ren) aged below
18 in domestic households by sex, 2019-2020

As the table is not readily available and shall be specifically compiled
for you, a charge (HK$309.0) to cover the cost involved in compiling this
statistical table will be levied.  Should you decide to acquire the table,
please arrange for payment of the above charge.  Payment can be made by
sending us a crossed cheque of a bank in Hong Kong or a bank draft in
exact amount and made payable to “The Government of the HKSAR” to the
following address:

Household Statistics Analysis Section
Census and Statistics Department
5/F, Fortress Tower, 250 King’s Road,
North Point, Hong Kong.
(Attn.: Miss Carmen LO)

The lead-time for our processing will normally not exceed 4 working days
and the output will be delivered after the payment procedure has been
successfully completed.

The official receipt of your payment will be sent to you via surface mail.
Please provide your address in your confirmation reply for the official
receipt to be sent.  In general, name of your company/organisation will be
the receiver shown on the receipt.  Please indicate if name of person has
to be added as the receiver as well.

Alternatively, payment can be made by settling General Demand Notes (with
more options for payment method).  For payment methods available for
settlement of General Demand Notes, you may refer to the website of The
Treasury ([2]https://www.try.gov.hk/internet/ehcoll_g...).
Kindly note that official receipt by this Department will not be issued
if payment is made by settlement of General Demand Notes.  Further details
will be provided if you prefer this payment method in your confirmation
reply.

The statistics to be provided are confined to your internal use only and
must not be used for re-dissemination.  However, you may include the
customised statistics that you have obtained from the Census and
Statistics Department (with the source properly acknowledged), in
publication, paper or any other materials which you prepare for academic
and educational purposes.  In case the customised statistics are used for
commercial purposes, the statistics quoted should only constitute an
insignificant portion of your piece of work and have no direct influence
on any profit and income arising therefrom; if otherwise, please further
consult us.

Should you have further enquiries, please contact the Household Statistics
Analysis Section of this department (Tel. no.: (852) 2887 5508; fax no.:
(852) 2508 1501; email: [email address]).
