I am writing to make a data access request regarding the number of outside escorts to public hospitals of immigration detainees. May I know, for each of the years between 2017 – 2022 (so far):

A) How many outside escorts were facilitated for detainees to public hospitals
I) For detainees at Castle Peak Bay Immigration Centre
II) For detainees at Ma Tau Kok Detention Centre
III) Immigration detainees at other locations (please kindly specify if possible)

 Further to our interim reply of 1 March 2022, our reply is provided as

The yearly total number of outside escorts to public hospitals for
detainees at the Castle Peak Bay Immigration Centre are as follows:

2017: 335
2018: 325
2019: 296
2020: 394
2021: 464
2022 (as at 31 January): 27

The Immigration Department does not maintain other requested statistics.
